Outside! Run! Play! Frolic! Explore!

We love, love, love being outside at The Olive Tree. Connecting to the community, nature, and ourselves is an important process to learning and understanding the lessons of the day.

Our outside time consists of free play, composting, gardening, harvesting, picnics, nature walks, and tinkering/ building.

Twice a year, we invite families to the school for a “Dig-In” on a Saturday morning. Families can bring a pre-determined plant, bag of dirt/ mulch, and/ or handy tools to help us revitalize our community grounds.

We also have a gardening committee for parents who can help us maintain our gardens/ landscaping.

We do not limit our time outdoors except during extreme weather. Kids will get to play in light rain and snow. Galoshes are a great investment.

"I like playing and eating macaroni and cheese with my friends. My favorite material is the birdy tower (singing bird tower)." -Arlo, age 3
