The emphasis is on choice, decisions, process, and not product. Open-ended materials are especially important because they allow many approaches, thus reaching students of varying interests. They stimulate long engagement, increasing focus and attention, and enlarging the capacity to learn. Primarily, students focus their learning by working with art, sensory play, nature/ outdoor play, math, language and emergent reading/ writing, music, yoga, and woodworking.
