Camp Olive is an unique experience for children ages two to ten years of age. Camp Olive starts on June 4, 2012 and lasts for seven weeks. Two week options are available with a discount for enrolling in the full seven week program.
Camp Olive’s theme for summer is Keep Austin Explored!
Each Friday, we will explore a different location around Austin. The locations will include but not limited to The Austin Nature and Science Center, Texas Natural Science Museum, Wild Basin, Crowe’s Nest Farm, Capital of Texas Zoo, New Braunfels Children’s Museum.
Monday through Thursday, the students will explore project ideas based on the field trip for that week. On Friday, we celebrate the project by exploring the different locations. We will take a chartered bus to the location with Olive Tree staff and lowered ratios. Parent volunteers are welcome to attend.
For Elementary school girls, ages 6-10, we will have a small group of 12 girls and two guides. Each day will be based around our project field trip, include arts/ crafts, and excursions. The topics will include empowerment, collaboration, and community.
The final two weeks of July, we are hosting a camp led by Ms. Jordan Maclay, called Adventure Girls. It is a two week, urban survival camp that will teach basic life skills, like making a rope, reading a map, navigating a bus route or the greenbelt. The last day, the girls will accumulate their knowledge and utilize it through a scavenger hunt around town. Supervised but allowing for independent decision-making.
The deposit will be applied to a camp shirt, transportation fees, and supplies. We can’t wait for our excursions!
Spaces will be limited. We are accepting wait list forms now!
